About Business and Financial Affairs
Business and Financial Affairs serves Samford University leading effective, responsible stewardship of its resources to best facilitate a quality education. Its members over see purchasing, organize payroll, keep accounting records, operate services such as the print shop and more. The division is comprised of Human Resources, Technology Services, Financial Services (Decision Support and Financial Strategy, Accounting, Purchasing, Bursar, etc.), Business Services (dining, print shop, bookstore, etc.), and Athletics. It is led by the Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs, Mr. Buck Brock.
About the VP for Business and Financial Affairs
Buck Brock was recommended by President Andrew Westmoreland and elected to serve as the Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs in the spring of 2007. Before joining Samford he was the president of Express Oil Development Company in Birmingham and before that he worked with Central Bancshares and Compass Bank.
He has also served as a Samford Trustee and during his time on the Board lead the investment committee to work with the Business and Financial Affairs, enhancing the endowment to over $278 million. "Buck Brock brings to this position the right mix of business knowledge and administrative skills. And, his previous service as a trustee will enhance his ability to lead our administrative division," said President Westmoreland upon Mr. Brock's appointment. He and his wife, Nancy, are parents of two children and are members of Mountain Brook Baptist Church.
